MONTHLY RATION
‘Helping underprivileged’
There are many families who are struggling to
survive. Basic needs, particularly food is an everyday problem and family members, including children, are malnourished. This Monthly Ration support scheme started in year 2017. Under General Aid/Poverty Relief.
The members of the BET call each identified
beneficiary family in the area to the nearest fair price shop which are selected by comparing rates and quality of shops, on a certain date and distribute the items they qualify to receive. Then the field officer makes payment to the vendor. The identified beneficiary is given ration every month.
It covers the locations in Mumbai/Thane mainly. The beneficiaries are segregated in categories (Category A, B, C, & D) depending on the number of family members. Beneficiaries access the Ration packets from different areas of Mumbai and Thane. Our Team Member personally handle at the time of distribution. Entry of the Ration Given is made in our
record. The beneficiary signs after receipt of the Ration. Families are obliged to BET Trust for the assistance provided over the period of time.
RAMADAN BASKET
Remembrance of God'
The blessed month of Ramadan is about sacrifice. On an individual level, we abstain from food, drink and other material acts from sunrise to sunset as we exercise self-discipline, restraint and humility in order to achieve taqwa, or enlightenment through obedience to Allah s.w.t. As citizens of humanity, it is our moral responsibility to come to their aid and assistance. As part of our relief aid operation, Islamic Help is distributing food packs usually one month’s ration per family up to 7 members throughout the holy month of Ramadan. Alhamdulillah in Ramadan we distributed Ration over 750 Families across Mumbai/Thane in 2021. Which includes mostly Sadaat and other families. Insha’Allah we will be ensuring that those deprived and struggling in the poverty-stricken areas of mainly Mumbai/Thane will have enough to sustain their families through this blessed month. Alhamdulillah we have no words to describe their happiness and are highly grateful for assistance and we look forward to reach maximum families in the coming year Insha’Allah.
EDUCATION
“The key to a bright future”
1 in 11 children go to work when they should be in school. When it is hard to afford necessities like food, shelter, and clothing; education becomes a luxury that the poor give up. Illiteracy then leads to further poverty.
Quality of education in Government and Municipal Schools is poor and deprives students of good career opportunities. Bright children from low income families aspire to a better education and life and wish to join private schools of higher standard. BET has been sponsoring selected children with school
fee & tuition fees.
We select the students by personal visits to their homes to assess the family background.
So far we assisting around 90 STUDENTS every year including Sadaat's studying in pre-primary, primary, secondary section and up to graduation.
We believe that every child deserves an equal chance to succeed. We are able to change the
lives of so many children, changing not just lives but communities.
